OUR HISTORY
Haberfield Baptist Church has been ministering to the local community since 1910 when the founding members of the church started to meet in a house in Haberfield. Four years later, in 1914, the church formally became a Baptist church.
The congregation met in, what we now call, our art chapel (where you can sit and listen for God’s voice through each art piece). In 1963, the current facilities were built. These have, over the years, changed to help facilitate the changing styles of doing church. In the 1990’s our church moved into Prayer/Healing/Deliverance ministry. We’ve seen many people healed and set free through this ministry.
Currently, our church is in a new season of it’s life. One in which we are seeking to encounter the love of Jesus, the voice of God and the leading of the Holy Spirit. As we change, our story grows and we’re looking forward to adding to this story. So stay tuned, God is doing great things!
OUR BELIEFS
Jesus is the Son of God. He died and rose again, so that we could live eternally, relationally and daily with God.
There is only one church, and we are an expression of that one church.
Everyone has been created uniquely by God.
God is love.
You are loved.
His Kingdom is here.
There is nothing God cannot do.
Coffee 😊
OUR VISION
We are a church that seeks to love others with the same love that Jesus has loved us with.
OUR PASSION
Our passion is to help you to discover a tangible relationship with God. In doing so, we want to help you discover your God-created uniqueness and identity. We believe that every part of your story is precious and important in understanding why you have been created.

Prayer Ministry
Prayer ministry has been a passion and function of our church for well over 20 years. During this time, we have seen many people healed, delivered and restored, set free to live in the fullness of their relationship with God. We believe that it is our inheritance as children of god, to walk in freedom from spiritual oppression and opposition and we place value on each of us growing in the understanding of our authority in Christ.
We also engage with churches and businesses in working through spiritual issues for their location and premises.
Our Framework
Our prayer ministry team operates within a safe, biblical and practical framework for confronting and taking authority against opposition in the spiritual realm.
Each appointment requires three visits with our Pastoral team. Over the years we have found that deliverance is more than a single visit, it can be a process, a journey of healing and discovery and it is our desire to join with you in that journey.
The first session is a ‘pre-prayer’ meeting, where we hear your story, get to know you and begin the process of deliverance. At this meeting you will be asked to daily engage with the Holy Spirit and the word of God, laying a path for this journey.
At our second meeting (approximately 2 weeks later) we gather our prayer team to pray specially for your deliverance/healing.
The third meeting (approximately 2 weeks later) is a ‘post-prayer’ meeting. This is a follow up meeting to ensure that you are supported after your time of deliverance and encouraged to walk out your healing.
Cost
We do not charge for this service, however we do encourage a donation which goes towards furthering this ministry.
Playtime
Our Playtime ministry is an opportunity for parents and children in the local area to connect in a fun and social setting.
Playtime is a great opportunity to meet new people in the community, enjoy a barista-made cuppa and a chat while playing with your children in a safe and fun environment.
We operate twice a week – Tuesdays and Thursdays – from 10:00am to 12.00pm during school terms. Contact Ida at HBC for more info or to book in.
Cost
There is a cost of $8 per family per visit.
Please note, we are a nut aware facility.
